[Your consciousness drifts in to the sound of discordant whispers. It sounds like a hushed argument in another room, something you can't quite catch. You're cold. Your skin tingles slightly, and then...]
[The files contain police department records. It seems to be mundane things, copies of paperwork from processing fines and other such things that aren't particularly sensitive information. Busywork, and all the details are blank anyway.]
[You can do that. You may notice you're definitely continuing to fade, by the way. In the next room, though, Are more shelves and boxes -- but they've all been violently knocked over. There are papers strewn all over the floor, and the larger things are largely piled against the walls and in corners, as if a localized tornado hit the room. And in the center, on the floor, there is pinned a war map.]
[There are red, purple, and black markers lined up. The black ones are all off in a pile -- whatever force that was has already been defeated. Most of the purple ones are neatly arranged at the edge, not occupying any territory, but one occupies the place on the map where this palace is, although it shares it with a red marker. The other territories of the world are all occupied by red. But you can see that the red markers are brand new, as opposed to the others, which are much older, as is the map itself.]
[Right now nothing seems to be happening. In terms of strategy, the red force seems to own the world, with the purple a tiny resistance right in the heart of it. If a war is going to happen, it hasn't really begun just yet.]
[It's more police papers. But some of them appear to be reports on the processing of mage-gifted individuals so, even if the details are still blanked, it's not very pleasant.]

Where the map was pinned, you can see a trap door peeking out from under the papers.]
