[He flushes a bit, watching Jupiter's face. He's feeling down, but he's still totally taken in at the drop of a hat. There's just something about Jupiter that makes his heart rush.]
[Honestly. Since when did his chest hurt so much when Jupiter smiled liked that? He laughs it off, looking away to hide his pink cheeks as they walk. Once they're there he's going to order the biggest, most decadent sweet thing he can find, of course. But he's not thinking about the sugar. He's thinking about the company.]
[ Mainly Jupiter is pleased to treat Ariel, to watch him enjoy a freedom he has never gotten before. Anyone looking at them would clearly assume they're on a date, and... the waitress who takes their order clearly does. ]
[That just makes Ariel blush more, and he stares off at the street rather than meet Jupiter's face. It's painful -- he doesn't think he's ever been as happy as he's been today, and knowing that makes for a terrible ache. Because this isn't his life. It's just a stolen moment of playing pretend, and after this he's going to walk right back into his pretty, perfect cage, where Jupiter and Tristan will go off and work and take important trips and Ariel will sit in the rooms he's allowed in, with the projects he's allowed, safe and measured. He can't match them. He can only quietly support them.
And besides, his dreams are only becoming clearer and more frequent. He's more and more sure they mean something, much beyond an enemy's scare tactic, and he can't possibly begin to love someone when his nights are filled with visions of them inside out at his hands.]
He's done everything for me, and he works himself to the bone for the whole world on top of it. If it's easier for him when I do what he wants, I ought to do that.
You know what I meant... he also doesn't pay careful attention to your actual desires, so you shouldn't have to compromise. He doesn't give you a chance to even earn your own way too much.
[He wants to. He wants to be able to do things like this. To be able to move with freedom, and experience life like everyone else. He's just... afraid. Of himself, and his dreams, and disappointing Tristan.]
